"Cope" Earth Pigment Painting

This original work was made with earth pigments - a process of foraging for rocks and other natural materials to create my own paints.‬This medium creates vibrant‭, ‬earth-toned colors that reflect the‭ ‬beauty and unique hues of our desert surroundings‭. ‬By using earth pigments‭, ‬I aim to infuse my work with a sense of place while‭ ‬reducing the environmental impact commonly associated with synthetic paints‭.‬ Using these handmade paints, I create surreal imagery and landscapes that explore how people relate to nature. My watercolors are mounted on wood panels shaped like different topographies, directly taken from the rocks and places used to make the paint.
