This original painting is from Earthbound Tarot, a 78-card deck I created using handmade earth pigments sourced across New Mexico. Each card in the deck was individually hand-painted using watercolors made from rocks and organic materials that I foraged myself.
This listing is for the original framed painting of the Queen of Swords. The piece is painted on archival paper using handmade earth pigments and is housed in a solid pine wood frame with hardware for hanging. The painting measures 6 × 9 inches, and the frame measures 9 × 13 inches.
About the Card:
A primal scream tears through the sky. The Queen of Swords stands with two weapons drawn, yelling in rage—not with weakness, but with power. Around her, butterflies swirl like debris, each one a testament to the transformation that has forged her. She has suffered, survived, and come out the other side unwilling to be silenced. The Queen of Swords has faced betrayal, loss, and disappointment, and she’s distilled those experiences into strength. Her fury is born from truth. She does not sugarcoat. She does not flinch. She sees what others can’t—or won’t—and she isn’t afraid to cut through illusion. This card calls on us to speak with conviction, to set boundaries that honor what we’ve been through, and to trust the clarity that can only come from experience.
