"The Moon" Framed Earth Pigment Painting

This original painting is from Earthbound Tarot, a 78-card deck I created using handmade earth pigments sourced across New Mexico. Each card in the deck was individually hand-painted using watercolors made from rocks and organic materials that I foraged myself.

About the Card:
Two women sit beneath the moon, their heads thrown back in wild, unrestrained howls. They embody the raw, untamed aspects of our nature—those parts that are often suppressed or ignored, but are crucial to our true selves. The Moon calls us to release these primal instincts and embrace the wildness that lives within, even when it feels messy, chaotic, or uncontrollable. When the full moon’s glow appears in the sky, it asks us to let go of logic and reason, and instead trust our instincts and intuition. In order to truly let go, we must shed fear and shame, and step into the fullness of our being. The Moon speaks to the wildness of our spirit and the freedom that comes when we no longer fear darkness.
